Gobble Gobble Gobble...Turkey Time!

The stores are all decked out for Christmas, poor Thanksgiving gets no love!  I decided Mr. Turkey needed some attention this year!  I decided to paint a little something for a special little boy.  Joe is 2 1/2 and I know he will look adorable in his Gobble Gobble Gobble shirt!

I started by washing the t-shirt I purchased at Walmart.  I reduced the size of the turkey picture to fit the front of the size 4T shirt on my computer.  Using my light box I turned the copy over and traced over all the lines with a regular pencil.  Insert a piece of cardboard covered with freezer paper into the body of the shirt and tape the sides and bottom down with masking tape.  Lay the picture pencil side down and tape in place so it won't shift.  Trace each line again, this will transfer the pencil on the opposite side onto the shirt.

I used regular acrylic paints and added a textile medium.  (Follow bottle directions)

After painting, I let it to dry overnight, I used fabric pens in black and brown to outline and add some details.

 Candy corn was my motivation!

Head and feet....
 Paint puddles....mixing my colors!

 LSU colors for this turkey....!

The words were added as an after thought....I thought it needed that extra touch...Gobble Gobble Gobble!
Happy Thanksgiving...Gobble comes before HO HO HO!
